My grandfather brought me here when i was old enough to eat solid foods. At 40 years of age I am still a faithful patron.

Excellent Cuban sandwiches. Cash only accepted, but there is an ATM inside. Prices are reasonable and customer service is personal and thorough!

Very respectable Cuban sandwiches, black beans and rice. Love this spot for a casual lunch and throwback to a better era.

Love this hole-in-the-wall Cuban place . Gets pretty busy at lunch and they stop serving when they run out of bread. I'm usually not a huge fan of Cuban sandwiches because they can be really dry, but the bread here is delicious, and they use a lot of ham- not dry pork slices. Best Cubans I've had in this area, hands down. Including Ybor.

I'm a big fan of a great cuban sandwhich for lunch time - this is a plant city gem and if your ever in the mood for a simple lunch with great taste - try Norma's - ladies ate friendly and they press their sandwiches perfectly . Yummy getting hungry writing this ! Also black beans and rice is good.

This is a great hole in the wall place to eat lunch. Everything I have tried is awsome. Bring CASH, no credit cards. Don't let the outside fool you. The food is great.

Luckily I work near this hole in the wall gem. Unfortunately, my lunch break is short. The s.o and I stopped in for our lunch break on a Friday, arriving around noon. Everything is old school- from the decor dating back to the 70s to the paint on the wall. You won't find new tv's or p.o.s systems or even an up to date kitchen. It's all done by hand, with a well used sandwich press, but with love. I had originally had major doubts when by almost 1pm we still had not received our sandwiches, everyone seemed flustered behind the counter, and the phone was steadily ringing in orders, but a lady who I'm assuming is the owner/manager delivered our meals to-go(since we were out of lunch hour) to our table with many apologies and even presented us with cookies and free meals on our next return. Was the food worth the wait? It was definitely the best Cuban I've had locally, but for me the real winner was the rice and beans side. Flavor, spices, and all kinds of delicious. I could make a meal out of that alone! Tip: Cash only! Arrive early for the lunch hour unless you have time to kill - parking is also limited and shares a lot with a retirement home.

Ordered the half Cuban with yellow rice and black beans plus tea to drink. The rice and beans were good, but was very disappointed with the Cuban sandwich. It had ham, lettuce, cheese, pickle, mustard and mayo on a nicely toasted Cuban roll, but no roast pork! Basically it was a toasted ham sub (see picture). The building looks run down outside and has only a few tables inside. The wait staff are nice enough, but many orders were getting mixed up or missed completely. This place was highly recommended, but was only an OK experience overall. Cash only.

I would have kept driving if I hadn't read the reviews on Yelp. It looks like an old gas station. I'm glad I trusted the other reviews . The cuban was super delicious as was the black beans and rice. Bathrooms were scary so drink your giant iced tea and then stop in town for a potty break.

We ordered at a bad time, just as they ran out of black beans. Took 10 to heat more. Cuban, beans were good. Surfed potato was great, interesting dish. Good prices. That eclectic, off the beaten path atmosphere we were seeking. Authentic Plant City. Lots of customers, good prices. Would recommend to the adventurous.

Ybor City has tons of great food, no doubt. But if you're way out by my family, just south of Plant City, then you need your fix (that is, a classic, no-holds-barred Cuban Sandwich) a little closer. However, you'd be a fool to think that Norma's is a compromise. It holds up against the big dogs over in Tampa anytime. I remember going with my mema when I was a kid. She could make some mean deviled crab cakes, but if it was a sandwich we were after, NORMAS! Dear Lord save me from the bullcrap they try to pass off here in San Francisco. French rolls for a Cuban? Hell no! I want some real deal, Holyfield type cuban bread with the lard and all. And out here they try to charge you $10. Pffft! I love you Norma!

Being on the road for work has its ups and downs, but finding Norma's Cuban Shop on Hwy 92 in Plant City was definitely an bonus! Norma and all the girls working behind the counter were very friendly. There was a steady stream of local men coming in to order food, and at first I wasn't sure if it was for the food or for the eye candy. It seemed to take a little longer than expected for my cuban sandwich to be ready, but I didn't mind because Norma and I had a nice little chat. She explained to me that they moved the shop from Ybor City to Plant City 25 years ago. Anyway, I took the sandwich and my sweet tea to go and when I sat down to eat it 10 minutes later I wanted to sing with joy. YES! This is exactly what I was hoping for. If you are looking for a great sandwich in well seasoned little restaurant with lots of natural southern character, then look no further than Norma's Ybor City Cuban Shop.
